PRODUCTION ENGINEER
Role Purpose: To lead and manage all shopfloor operations—ensuring timely, efficient, and high-quality execution of production plans released by PPC. The Production Manager is responsible for achieving daily output targets, maintaining process discipline, reducing rework and downtime, and creating a safe, lean, and accountable production environment. 🎯 Key Responsibilities: 1. Daily Execution & Shopfloor Management • Lead day-to-day production across all departments: Turret, Bending, Welding, Coating, Assembly, Dispatch. • Translate shift-wise plans into actions with line supervisors. • Monitor progress, resolve real-time issues, and escalate risks when necessary. • Conduct daily production huddles with supervisors and coordinate with PPC & Projects. 2. Output & Efficiency Tracking • Ensure adherence to production plan (output vs target). • Track downtime, idle time, rework, and cycle times across workstations. • Implement WIP control and visual management systems. 3. Team Leadership & Accountability • Lead production supervisors and operators with clarity, discipline, and motivation. • Create a performance culture through clear KPIs, daily reviews, and constructive feedback. • Ensure attendance, safety, training, and role clarity of the production team. 4. Coordination with Other Functions • Work closely with PPC for plan understanding and real-time execution alignment. • Coordinate with Quality to ensure in-process and final product quality. • Support Maintenance team in scheduling preventive and emergency repairs. • Liaise with Projects to align with customer delivery priorities. 5. Continuous Improvement & Lean Thinking • Identify areas for process improvement, bottlenecks, and quality issues. • Support implementation of lean tools (5S, visual control, Kaizen) on the floor. • Maintain discipline, cleanliness, and safety across the shopfloor. 📊 KPIs & Performance Metrics • Daily Plan vs Actual Output (by department) • First Pass Yield (% output accepted without rework) • Rework and Rejection Rate (%) • Downtime % (Planned vs Unplanned) • On-Time Production Completion for Dispatch • Shopfloor Discipline & Team Attendance • Safety Compliance & Housekeeping Scores ✅ Qualifications & Experience • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering • 6–10 years experience in sheet metal or furniture manufacturing
